Steve Ritchie was compensated over 2 million dollars by the end of 2017. He had humble beginnings in the Louisville area. While attending Seneca high school he bought his first pizza restaurant for $16,000. There he worked nearly 16 hours a day, 7 days a week. He learned a fantastic work ethic that has given him much success. His passion for the pizza business enticed him to Papa John’s. Steve Ritchie worked for Papa John’s, the third largest pizza chain in the world, for over 22 years. He jokes about his education, saying that he got his degree from “Papa John’s University.”
He began his career as an order taker. Steve Ritchie had many roles at Papa John’s. These include delivery, store manager, area supervisor, V. President, and director of operations. For a short time, while working for Papa John’s, Steve Ritchie was a consultant for the Calistoga Bakery Cafe. He claims that “Pizza is my life.” Ritchie has few friends outside of Papa John’s. He is very driven and intelligent.
